Rev. Karen Y. Noel

Rev. Karen Y. Noel came to St. John in July 2010.  She has been in ministry serving as a pastor for ten years in the Detroit Annual Conference.  Rev. Noel is the wife of Dr. Phares Noel who serves as president of the United Methodist Union Board for the Detroit Annual Conference.  They have two adult children.

When not attending to the flock of St. John, Rev. Noel can be found serving the Detroit Conference as a clergy coach, a member of the conference board of ordained ministry, and as a United Methodist delegate to the National Council of Churches.

Living an active lifestyle is very important to Rev. Noel who likes to "play".  She can be found playing on the golf course, skiing, or rollerskating.

Rev. Noel reflects on her authority as an ordained elder and her relationship with the church, using Acts 4.42 as her ministry statement:  "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."  Open dialogue is important to Rev. Noel and she invites all to come in and meet with her by calling the church office to make an appointment.
